My house, the Canvas
Get ready for a bunch of pictures, fun ideas, and a crap-ton of DIY stuff. Hence the name, "My house, the Canvas". For those of you who have been to my house, you probably get it. It's not really that misleading. I use the walls of my house (and maybe one day - the outside - that would be fun) like I do a canvas. I fill the empty space. Hope you enjoy it. Let me know if you have any comments, questions, hate mail, whatever along the way. This should be fun.

One for the kiddos
So this has been going on for years. The kids love it, I'm on the fence, but it started off as a crazy dream I had. I found an old piece of wood in our old garage and started painting.

The Thinking Spot
Let's face it. My kids are a little dramatic. I like to think of it as passion, however when a conversation won't do the trick, they depend on their thinking spots. here is one, nestled under a (very sturdy and bolted to the wall) bookshelf in the toy room. I'm sure it will get even more decked out as we go, so watch for updates.

Kids Art Wall
Always a challenge. Where am I going to put the 4,000 art projects that my kids bring home from school/daycare every...single...day? I hear you. And voila, the cork board art wall. Ours is about 4 feet tall and 5.5 feet wide. It's massive. But it's perfect!!! Just grab the cork board squares, tack them to the wall, frame it with wood. We used square pieces on each corner to make it easier to frame. We throw in pictures of the fam, ticket stubs, other stuff. Works out well. Enjoy.
Angels among us
Yes. It's a little creepy. My dogs barked at it for the first three days, my husband complained about it for the next week, but all in all...I like her. She's a hip angel, I got the inspiration from somewhere on google images, and she now sits in our hallways betwixt two of the kids rooms. Watching. Very non-creepy.
Chaos is comfort at this house.
In my opinion, you should display your name somewhere near the entrance of your house. Now that there are so many crazies out there, I get that it needs to be inside rather than outside. Shout out to Adrienne - we made these together.
Opening Night
Well, well, well. Here we are. I guess I finally made it onto the blog scene - and I am happy to announce, it's actually a blog I'm excited about writing! To be honest, I don't know exactly how much writing will be involved, but there will certainly be a lot of pictures, fun ideas, and a crap-ton of DIY stuff.
Hence the name, "My house, the Canvas".
